There are many kinds of refractory materials. According to their appearance classification, refractory materials can be divided into refractory bricks (products with certain shape) and amorphous refractory materials (hereinafter referred to as bulk materials). Among them, refractory bricks are divided into sintered bricks, non sintered bricks, electric melting bricks (melting and casting bricks) and refractory and heat insulation bricks。
Refractories for melting and casting glass furnace are a new type of high-grade refractories, which have a series of excellent properties such as compact structure, high mechanical strength and glass erosion resistance, and can manufacture products larger than ordinary sintered bricks. They are widely used in key parts of glass furnace and other related industries.
The technical development of the refractory products industry for melting and casting glass furnace has roughly experienced four stages: the first stage is represented by melting and casting zirconium mullite refractory products; the second stage is represented by melting and casting zirconium corundum products by reduction method; the third stage is represented by melting and casting zirconium corundum products by oxidation method; and the fourth stage is represented by melting and casting alumina products by oxidation method. At present, the technical level of melting and casting refractory products industry is in the third and fourth stages, and the fourth stage represents the highest level of technical development of the industry.
